Cellucor CN3 Review 1When it’s time to look for a new pre workout supplement, the first thing you should do is take an honest assessment of your needs and what it is you really want from it. That’s because there are so many different product with just as many different focuses, all vying for your business. Some are all about the pump. Some are all about the stamina. Some are all about the muscle energy. Some are all about the stimulants. And some are a mixture or some or all of the above. It can be confusing and make it harder to choose, but it makes sense. Different guys want different things at different times. And the bodybuilding community loves to try new supplements and stacks. Cellucor CN3 is an option from Cellucor with a focus on muscle energy and pumps.

Cellucor as a company is best known for its C4 pre workout supplements, which are very well rounded formulas. Cellucor CN3 steps outside that box by not containing stimulants or pretty much any of the other standard issue pre workout ingredients. Instead, it goes after insane pumps, and according to a lot of the customer feedback I’ve seen, it gets them.

Cellucor CN3 Ingredients

The ingredients section of the Cellucor CN3 label keeps it short and sweet:

Cellucor CN3 Review 2

  • 3 g Creatine Nitrate
  • 500 mg Vitamin C

It seems almost too simple. But there’s a lot about Creatine Nitrate that you should know if you want pumps and you want to gain strength.

How Does Cellucor CN3 Work

Since Cellucor CN3 is basically all creatine nitrate, if you want to understand how Cellucor CN3 works, you need to know how creatine nitrate works. Creatine Nitrate is basically a form of creatine where the creatine molecule is bound to a nitrate group. There are some studies showing that creatine nitrate has superior absorption rates, which is a good thing, but mainly the benefits seem to be more separate. You get the benefits of creatine and the benefits of nitrate.

Let’s see if we can clear that up a bit:

Creatine allows your muscles to store far more energy than they can without it. ATP is the form of energy your muscle use when you exert yourself. Your muscles can only store a very small amount of ATP. But creatine converts to ATP when needed, and your muscles can hold lots more creatine. So when you saturate your mucles with creatine, you have all the ATP you need to push past your previous limits. Your body produces creatine and you get some from your food, but creatine supplementation is needed if you want to saturate your muscles with it. (1)

Nitrates convert to nitric oxide. As you probably know, nitric oxide is a vasodilator, and it’s where your pumps come from. With wide open blood vessels, blood freely and easily transports oxygen and nutrients to your muscles, causing pumps, providing energy, and improving recovery. (2)

How to Use Cellucor CN3

The recommended dose is 1 scoop of Cellucor CN3 mixed with 10 ounces of water and taken about half an hour before your workout. Since Cellucor CN3 is creatine nitrate, you don’t want to load it like you would with other creatines. Too many nitrates are likely to give you a headache, which is clearly something you want to avoid.

Cellucor CN3 comes in Cherry Limeade, Fruit Punch, and Unflavored varieties. Cellucor is famous for their great mixability and to some degree their taste. Cellucor CN3 carries on the tradition of mixability, but the taste gets mixed reviews. The Cherry Limeade is pretty popular, but both flavors tend to come on a little strong and thick. You may need to use more than the recommended amount of water to get it to where you want it flavorwise.

Where to Buy Cellucor CN3

One of the great things about Cellucor products is that you can buy them in GNC stores as well as online. In other words, they’re easy to find. Cellucor CN3 is no exception. On the Cellucor website, you can get a 45 serving tub for $50. At Bodybuilding.com, that same tub sells for $29.99, a $20 savings. The advantages of buying through the official website is that you are fully covered under their money back guarantee.  Cellucor.com offers a 30 day money back guarantee when you order directly from them, so that is what we suggest.

Cellucor CN3 Pros

  • It’s made by Cellucor which has a great reputation in the supplement industry.
  • There’s a money back guarantee.
  • The Cellucor CN3 reviews almost all talk about the insane pumps you get with it.
  • It mixes really well and tastes great to most people.
  • It gives you the benefits of muscle strength and energy without stimulants.

Cellucor CN3 Cons

  • Some people like stimulants in their pre workouts. If you’re one, this may not be for you.
  • Creatine Nitrate isn’t the same as creatine monohydrate. Some people might not realize they shouldn’t load it, and end up with more nitrates than they want.

Our Cellucor CN3 Conclusion

If you want to experience real pumps – we’re talking the insane kind of pumps you hear about all the time but never get yourself – then try Cellucor CN3. It doesn’t provide all the bells and whistles some guys look for in a pre workout. But because it has no stimulants, you can stack it with other products as long as they’re not also nitrate products. Cellucor CN3 is a great specializing pre workout for the guy who wants pumps and strength gains.

User Questions and Answers

Q: How should the pump provided should manifest? Through the enlargement of the muscles during the work out or is it supposed to be a stimulant feeling like most pre-work outs make you feel? -Habid

A: Its the latter.  You might see some vascularity but that is temporary, but with the CN3, it is the pump you feel to work out harder.

Q: Does CN3 help you gain good muscle weight? -Habid

A: Cellucor CN3 has Creatine Nitrate, so I would expect you will see results if you are working out with heavier weights.  Creatine does tend to hold a little water, but I would not worry about it. You can also stack it with a testosterone booster like Testo Fuel or Prime male for more results.
