Progenex Force – What Is It?

When you’re serious about your workouts, you need a serious pre workout supplement, somethinsg as committed to your success as you are. That’s why it’s a good idea to take a look at what CrossFitters tend to go with. Because let’s face it, CrossFitters are some of the most intense athletes there are. That’s why Progenex Force is something we thought we should look at. At first glance, it’s a typical pre workout powder, so we wanted to take a look and figure out if there’s something about this stuff that makes it worth using.

How Progenex Force Works

If you take Progenex Force a few minutes before your workout, the promise is that you’ll find yourself with:

  • Greater strength and stamina.
  • Increased mental clarity and focus.
  • Ability to train harder and longer.
  • Optimized ability to perform (ie you’ll reach Prs on a regular basis).

The people at Progenex spoke with hardcore athletes, scientists, and even weekend warrior types and they found that everyone wanted the same thing – the ability to keep going longer and harder while their muscle were provided with the nutrients they need to facilitate growth and repair. Next, we’ll look at the formula to see if they naled it, missed it entirely, or fell somewhere in between.

Progenex Force Ingredients

Progenex force review 2The list is pretty comprehensive actually. Most of your typical pre workout bases are covered. It’s starts with their proprietary ingredient called Surge NOS Activator. It’s a whey protein peptide that increases the production of nitric oxide in your endothelial cells. More nitric oxide mean better vasodilation – your blood vessels widen to allow blood to flow more freely through the body to your muscles. More blood means more oxygen and more nutrients, so not only can you push harder and perform better in your workouts, but your muscles will also have what they need to repair and grow.

And while Surge NOS Activator is key to the formula, there are plenty of other components playing necessary roles in Progenex Force. There’s:

  • Creatine which exists naturally in your body and can also be consumed. Th more creatine in your system, the more energy your muscle cells will have. This is especially important for the quick burst, fast twitch muscle using exercises you find in CrossFit workouts. The harder you can push during those bursts, the more muscle you’ll build. Creatine has been proven over and over again to be a crucial component in building muscle mass.
  • BCAAs (Branched Chain Amino Acids), including Leucine, Isoleucine, and Valine in the recommended 2:1:1 ratio), which improve muscle repair and recovery when you’re done with your workout. This repair is necessary so you go back in the next day with renewed strength and energy. BCAAs are typically found in post workout supplements, but according to Progenex, these amino acids oxidize during exercise, so they’re in perfect form to do what’s need afterward.
  • Citrulline which reduces ammonia accumulation in blood. This is important because ammonia blocks cell energy. Citrulline also increases both nitric oxide and ATP so its benefits are many.
  • Beta Alanine which increases the level of carnosine in muscles. This is crucial for fending off muscle fatigue so you keep going longer and harder without crapping out. Lactic Acid buildup in your muscles is what gives them that overwhelming desire to stop pushing. Beta Alanine helps minimize the lactic acid so this doesn’t happen.
  • Caffeine in a pretty low dose so you get a bit of a boost, along with clarity and focus, but nothing that’ll have you bounding off walls or crashing hard in a couple of hours.

Progenex force Review 4Progenex Force Pros

  • It’s widely used by CrossFitters.
  • The ingredient list is pretty comprehensive.
  • I found several Progenex Force review write ups from guys who’ve used it and like it. They say the taste (lemon) is light and refreshing, the energy is clean with no crash, and the power it provides is impressive.
  • It’s easy to find complete information on the product.

Progenex Force Cons

  • It’s on the expensive side at about $2 per serving.
  • You’ll get that Beta Alanine itch that you might not like (some do, some don’t).
  • Most of the ingredients are under-dosed, so you may find yourself needing a double dose, which makes it that much more expensive to use.

Where to Buy Progenex Force

Progenex force Review 3

You can find Progenex Force online through the Progenex website. There are also a few other online sources. It’s also available at a lot of gyms and crossfit boxes. The price is pretty consistent at $59.99 for 30 servings.

Our Final Progenex Force Conclusion

Progenex Force is a pretty run of the mill pre workout supplement. It’s got all the right pieces, but the price is high and the ingredient amounts are low. We’d like it a whole lot more if it was the other way around. If you get a chance to try a sample, go for it. But if you’re thinking about spending the $60 for what could end up being only 15 workouts worth (if you need a double dose), I wouldn’t be surprised if you end up disappointed.

Q: I’ve used Progenix Force pre-work out for a couple of years now. I’m a 5:30 a.m. cross fitter and have found Force to provide me what I need in the a.m. without the jolt / crash syndrome of other pre-workout supplements. I too hate the expense it’s a good product and has been hard to justify the hit to the budget. -Donna
