rise-pre-workout-review-1

Choosing the right pre workout supplement is a tough decision, with several different aspects to consider. Do you want something with stimulants? Do you want something with creatine? How about pumps – are they important to you? Powder or pill? What about the taste? And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. So in order to help you decide if Rise Pre-Workout is for you, let’s get right to it and lay out all the pros and cons.

Rise Pre-Workout Benefits

The first thing we always look at is what benefits a supplement promises to offer. In the case of Rise Pre-Workout, we’re looking at a pre workout supplement designed to help you put on muscle and strength, a subtle but important distinction from one meant to be used during a weight loss or cutting phase. Here are some of the stated benefits:

  • Increased energy and endurance.
  • Helps you push past your comfort zone.
  • Boosts focus.
  • Fights against mental fog.
  • Reduces muscle fatigue during workouts.
  • Reduces muscle soreness post workout.

And this is all without an energy crash half way through or even after your workout.

Clearly, if Rise Pre-Workout does what it says, it’s an effective all around pre workout, covering most, if not all, the benefits you want. That’s why our next job is to check into the formula to see if it’s likely to actually do what it says it will.

Rise Pre-Workout Ingredients

rise-pre-workout-review-2The product page on the company website provides not only the full ingredients list, but also lists how much of each is used, and a brief description of their benefits. The list includes:

  • Carnosyn Beta Alanine (2000 mg) (1) which helps muscles produce carnosine, which acts as a buffer against the buildup of lactic acid – which would make your muscles feel like they’ve been pushed to the limit and unable to push on. You’ll get a tingly feeling when you use Beta Alanine. Don’t worry, it’s perfectly normal.
  • Creatine Monohydrate (1000 mg) (2) which is the most well-studied and well-respected form of creatine there is. It provides intramuscle energy so your muscles push harder and longer than they do without.
  • Betaine Anhydrous (500mg) which helps with protein synthesis, clearly leading to muscle growth. It also helps convert fat to energy.
  • L-Citrulline (500 mg) which works well with Beta Alanine to fight off muscle fatigue. Where beta alanine works on lactic acid, L-Citrulling blocks ammonia buildup.
  • Amagmatine Sulfate (500 mg) which can boost nitric oxide levels and improve focus.
  • Choline Bitartrate (500 mg) (3) which increases endurance, encouraging you to power through past lowpoints, and make it out the other side.
  • Acetyl Tyrosine (250mg) which may boost thyroid function and help you relax if you’ve got anxiety.
  • Caffeine (290 mg) for energy and focus. Rise Pre-Workout uses 3 different kinds of caffeine sources, each of which metabolizes at a different rate for longer lasting energy.
  • Huperzine A (2 mcg) which helps protect your brain from free radical damage.
  • Vitamins C, B12, and B6 for energy and immune support.

This list is pretty comprehensive in terms of the benefits it can actually provide. The caffeine provides a good deal of energy. In fact, the amount may be too high for some to handle. It will improve strength with the creatine content (though it’s a little on the low side). Muscle fatigue will be combated by the L-Citrulline and Beta Alanine.

The one commonly sought after benefit that may be somewhat lacking in the Rise Pre-Workout is pump. L-Citrulline and Agmatine Sulfate will help, but most people like to see some L-Arginine added to the mix.

rise-pre-workout-review-4How to Use Rise Pre-Workout

The recommended dose is one scoop mixed with a glass of water and taken about half an hour before you hit the gym. Because of the caffeine content, you may want to start with a half dose the first time, just to see how you’ll respond before diving in head first. You should also know you may feel a tingling in your skin because of the Beta Alanine. This is completely normal and safe.

Where Can You Buy Rise Pre-Workout

Rise Pre-Workout is sold through the Pure Label Nutrition website as well as other retailers, notably Amazon.com. At the Pure Label Nutrition website, the 30-serving tub is currently selling for just under $25, while at Amazon, I’ve seen it for a little more at $29.

Rise Pre-Workout Before and After Reviews

Because Rise Pre-Workout is sold at Amazon.com, we get the benefit of Amazon customer reviews. This is a great way to get a sense of what customers in the real world think of it. For the most part, feedback is favorable.

One happy customer sums it up with:

“This drink is great. I have been working out seriously for about twenty years. I’ve used many different pre-workout drinks. Most drinks either get you too jittery or what really annoys me is when you start to build a tolerance and then need to start adding more and more to each drink. I’ve used C4 for a while and thats what happened with them. I needed to buy two bottles for the amount of time i should only be getting through one bottle.

Once I switched to Rise I’m getting a real good pump up before my workout, no weird jitters and no crashing. Most importantly i’m getting a super good workout.”

But not everyone is so pleased:

“Absolutely not worth a penny I’d get a better pump and energy off of a damn cup of coffee .”

You can’t please everyone, but in the case of Rise Pre-Workout, it seems to please most.

Rise Pre-Workout Pros

  • The formula is very complete.
  • Amounts are listed as well as the benefits of each ingredient.
  • Customer reviews are very positive for the most part.
  • It’s affordable.

Rise Pre-Workout Cons

  • It has quite a bit of caffeine which may be too much for some.
  • The creatine dose is on the low side, so you may want to load up with some additional creatine for a few days before settling into this amount.

Our Recommendation

All in all, Rise Pre-Workout is a solid product with a good reputation for effectiveness and value. The only word of caution is that if you’re sensitive to stimulants, you may want to try a half dose at first.
