Finding the right fat burning supplement can be a little like finding the proverbial needle in the haystack. You know it’s there somewhere, but how are you supposed to find it hidden among all that hay. So you keep plugging away, knowing that one day, you’ll find the one. Shred Jym comes from Jim Stoppani and Jym Supplement Science, and it claims to be the needle you’re looking for. Jim Stoppani is a pretty well respected member of the fitness and supplement community, so any of his products is worth taking a look. We did, and are ready to share what we came up with.
Benefits of Shred Jym
Shred Jym is the fat burning supplement from Jym Supplement Science. You can use it with any of your cutting cycles, or if you just need to drop a few pounds before a contest or special event. By supporting the Three Stages of Fat Loss, Shred Jym claims to be the most efficient fat burning supplement you can buy.
Stage One: The Release of Fat from Fat Cells. Your fat cells are here to stay. There’s nothing, aside from liposuction, you can do about that. What you do instead is reduce the amount of fat stored in our fat cells. This way, the fat cells are smaller. Shred Jym uses two different mechanisms to encourage fat to leave your fat cells.
Stage Two: Converting Fat to Usable Energy. Once your fat leaves your fat cells, it needs to be used as fuel if you want it to be gone for good. For that, it needs to get to the mitochondria of your body’s cells, where it gets converted to ATP, which is what your muscles use to form contractions.
Stage Three: Increase the Body’s Energy Needs. This is basically boosting your metabolism so your freed up fat is needed to simply run the machine of your body all day long, whether you’re exercising or at rest.
Shred Jym Ingredients
The Shred Jym formula concentrates on these three stages, tackling each function one on one. Here is the list of ingredients in Shred Jym:
Caffeine work on Stage One by releasing fat from your fat cells. to release fat from you fat cells so it can be burned as fuel. Studies have also shown that caffeine increases your metabolism as a whole and total calories burned. Caffeine helps with fat lose by suppressing appetite, as well. Aside from being the most used stimulant, it will also increase energy and brain functions, too.(1)- Acetyl L-Carnitine improves the transport system of fat to mitochondria so it can be burned for fuel. This particular form of carnitine has the added benefit of containing acetyle groups which enter the brain and improve cognitive function, mood and energy.(2)
- ECGC from Green Tea increases your metabolic rate which burns more calories and fat. Specifically, green tea extract contains large quantities of a substance called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) which prevents the breakdown of norepinephrine. Among it’s many important functions, norepinephrine keeps your metabolism fast and especially increases fat burn.
- Capsacin from Capsimax Cayenne Pepper Extract is a patented form of capsaicin – the substance that makes hot peppers hot. Capsaicin has been shown through numerous trials to both suppress appetite and increase metabolism. The issue is that many people cannot tolerate the heat associated with the substance. To get around this, the makers of Capsimax has created small capsules that each contain huge amounts of capsaicin. These tiny pods pass through your mouth, throat and stomach without touching your taste buds and are finally released in your intestines. This specialized delivery method not only gives you a larger-than-normal dose of capsaicin, but does so without any heat.
- Synephrine from Advantra Z,is a patented form of the popular weight loss supplement synephrine – an extract of bitter orange. The closest thing you will find to ephedrine, synephrine is slightly less potent but also less risky. This patented form of the substance delivers it in a safe, effective dose that can be readily absorbed. Numerous studies have shown the synephrine is a powerful stimulant, fat burner and appetite suppressant.
- L-Tyrosine all contribute to the boosting of your metabolism, helping your body convert fat into ATP to be used by your muscles.works in conjunction with caffeine to increase alertness, energy, focus and mood. Primarily, this boost is a result of the increased levels of dopamine, adrenaline, and norepinephrine that tyrosine causes. Each of these neurotransmitters work toward improving your brain function and mood. As far as weight loss goes, tyrosine also impacts the concentration of thyroid hormones which in turn speed up your metabolism.
A big selling point for Shred Jym is the fact that it uses clinical doses of these ingredients. Most of them have been included in clinical studies. Shred Jym uses the same or similar doses that were used in the tests. A lot of supplement companies don’t. They just add a little of an ingredient so they can put it on the label, not caring about whether or not it’s an effective dose. Shred Jym makes you take 4 capsules per serving, just to ensure that you get the proper dosage of each ingredient. And you’re taking that dose 2 or 3 times a day.
Shred Jym Reviews
Customer feedback for Shred Jym is pretty mixed. There are lots of very positive reviews where guys say they used it along with their strict diet and workout routines and lost fat. Here are a couple examples:
- “Following a nutritionist’s diet, with Shred Jym I was able to burn more fat than what was trending in the previous months without using it.”
- “This is the best fat loss pill I have ever taken!!!! I love the fact that I don’t crash on this pill like I do with most other fat loss pills.”
But there are others where guys talk about zero results and bad stomach pains:
- “only thing I got from these caps were stomach cramps.”
- “I’ve been taking this now for 2 months now and I have not noticed an increase in fat burning. “
Where to Buy
Jym Supplement Science has a very lucrative relationship with Bodybuilding.com, which is where you can buy all their products, including Shred Jym. The one month supply of 240 capsules sells for $35.46, which is a lot less expensive than most Jym products. It does not appear that Shred Jym is available at GNC, Walmart or Amazon.
Our Shred Jym Conclusion
It clearly works for some people, but there are a couple of sticking points keeping us from recommending Shred Jym. First of all, 4 capsules 2 or 3 times a day is a lot of pills, two many for a lot of people. Some might say that’s the price you pay for effectiveness. But some guys just can’t take that many pills. Second, some people get nauseous taking Shred Jym. It’s likely to be caused by the green tea extract, but knowing that doesn’t change the fact that if you’re affected this way, you can’t take it. I would find something that works like Instant Knockout, but not because you’re too sick to eat.
