PharmaFreak Test Freak is a popular natural testosterone booster, so we’re taking a look to see how it stacks up in a very saturated market.
Test Freak comes from PharmaFreak and calls itself a hybrid testosterone booster. That’s because it works from a couple different angles to boost the testosterone that your body has available to use. There are two types of testoserone – total and free. Total is all the testosterone you have in your body, but some of that is bound up and unable to be used. The remainder is called “free testosterone”, and that’s the measure you really need to keep your eye on. PharmaFreak Test Freak increases both kinds.
How PharmaFreak Test Freak Works
In order to affect a change, a supplement like PharmaFreak Test Freak needs to work with your body and its natural processes. In the case of testosterone, here’s how the process works: The hypothalmus in the brain releases a hormone that stimulates the pituitary gland to release Luteinizing Hormone (LH). That LH then travels to the testes to signal the Leydig cells that it’s time to make and secrete testosterone, which the Leydig cells then do.
PharmaFreak Test Freak claims to work in harmony with this process to make sure it’s firing on all cylinders and getting the job done. If it all works as planned, you end up with: increased lean muscle mass, decreased fat deposits, more restful sleep, more energy throughout the day, better muscle recovery, and increased libido.

The formula start with Vitamin B6, Magnesium, and Zinc. These are all important for supporting the workings of natural processes like testosterone production. The Testosterone Support Complex is the meat of the formula. It uses Testofen and Trigotest (both from the Fenugreek seed) and a max dose of Tribulus Terrestris (1) to jumpstart the testosterone making process by increasing the amount of LH secreted by the pituitary gland.
The DHT Support Complex contains clinically researched doses of Saw Palmetto Extract (2) and Stinging Nettle Extract. These have both been shown to decrease DHT levels, which is important for maintaining the optimal hormonal balance needed to be at your best.
The Estrogen Support Complex contains 3 clinically researched anti-aromatase compounds. They are Hesperidin, Apigenin, and Resveratrol. Some amount of testosterone is generally converted into estrogen, so it’s possible that an excess of testosterone will lead to too much estrogen and an undesirable hormonal balance. These 3 ingredients block this conversion, so you are left with more free testosterone and less estrogen.

- The reviews are very positive about the sleep and recovery aspects provided by PharmaFreak Test Freak.
Bad Points of PharmaFreak Test Freak
- It’s kind of expensive.
- It’s hard to find reviewers talking about real muscle gains when using this.
- 4 capsules is a lot to take at one time.
Our PharmaFreak Test Freak Conclusion
PharmaFreak Test Freak is marketed as a testosterone booster, but it turns out its biggest benefit is as a sleep aid. Don’t get me wrong, sleep and recovery are both extremely important when you’re working out and trying to pack on lean muscle. But this is supposed to be a testosterone booster. It’s probably the zinc and magnesium (2/3 of a ZMA supplement) that are helping with sleep. So why not just save yourself a few bucks and go with a ZMA supplement. And if it’s really a testosterone boost you’re after, there are better options than PharmaFreak Test Freak.
